WHAT IS A DEEP BURNED CLAY POT OR BLACK POTTERY?

This pottery technique is steeped in age-old tradition. A standard red clay pot undergoes a single kilning process. However, deep burned pots are kilned twice. During the second kilning, potters stack the pots together with wood and hay, subjecting them to a temperature of approximately 1200°C. This meticulous process results in pots that are exceptionally robust and long-lasting. Interestingly, the pots undergo a transformation and turn black in color. Deep burned pots exhibit remarkable resilience and can withstand high temperatures when used on a gas stove.
