Bronze conducts heat evenly, helping food to cook uniformly without burning. It brings out the natural flavor of ingredients and enhances the taste of the dish. Over time, it develops a natural patina that adds a beautiful antique look. Bronze utensils are also long-lasting and can serve generations when cared for properly. Traditionally rooted in Indian Ayurveda, cooking in bronze vessels is believed to balance the body’s doshas and support immunity and metabolism

Bronze, also known as Kansa, is considered a safe and healthy metal for cooking. It is minimally reactive with food and retains a high percentage of nutrients during the cooking process. Its alkaline nature helps in neutralizing acidity in food, which supports better digestion. The anti-bacterial properties of bronze also make it a hygienic and healthy option for everyday use. It is suitable for most foods, though care should be taken when cooking acidic dishes like those with tamarind or lemon.

Yes, you can cook non-vegetarian dishes in our bronze uruli vessel. It is traditionally used for preparing meat and seafood curries in Indian kitchens. Bronze is a sturdy and durable metal that can withstand high temperatures, making it ideal for slow cooking. It enhances the flavor and richness of dishes like stews, curries, and gravies. However, always ensure the vessel is cleaned thoroughly before and after use to maintain hygiene and food safety.

All our bronze cookware is completely handmade using a traditional method where molten metal, made of pure copper and tin in the correct Ayurvedic ratio, is poured into individual molds. Due to this artisanal process, no two products are exactly the same. Slight variations in size and weight are natural. The size and weight mentioned on our website are only indicative, to help customers understand the approximate dimensions. We do not sell based on weight—each item is priced per piece. We request customers to appreciate the uniqueness of each handcrafted item rather than expecting machine-made uniformity.

Yes, avoid prolonged contact with highly acidic or citrus-rich foods such as tamarind, tomatoes, or lime. These ingredients can react with the metal over time if not cleaned quickly. While short-term cooking is usually fine, storing such food in bronze vessels is not recommended.

For daily cleaning, use mild dish soap and a soft sponge. Avoid using steel scrubbers or harsh chemicals that may scratch the surface. If the vessel becomes tarnished, you can restore its shine using a paste of lemon juice and baking soda or by rubbing it with tamarind pulp. Always rinse thoroughly and dry the vessel completely after washing to avoid water spots or dullness.

Seasoning helps in improving the performance and longevity of bronze cookware. First, clean and dry the utensil. Then apply a thin layer of cooking oil to the surface and heat it gently for a few minutes. Let it cool and wipe off excess oil. Traditional seasoning methods include boiling water with salt and tamarind or even using cow dung water, as done in earlier generations. Regular seasoning also helps reduce sticking and maintains the utensil’s shine and usability.

Bronze cookware is not compatible with induction cooktops as it is not magnetic. It is best used on traditional gas stoves or wood-fired stoves. Avoid high direct flame for long periods or heating an empty vessel, as bronze is a soft metal.

It is not advisable to use metal spoons, as they can scratch the surface. Always use wooden or silicone spatulas to preserve the vessel’s finish and prevent damage to the patina.

Ecocraft India offers a wide range of handcrafted bronze items including urulis (cooking bowls), katoris (serving bowls), thalis (plates), drinking glasses, spoons, ladles, and more. Every item is made with skill and care by traditional artisans and reflects our cultural heritage.

After cleaning and drying, store the utensils in a dry place. Avoid keeping them in damp or moist areas, and do not stack them with sharp metal items. You can wrap them in a cotton cloth to reduce exposure to air and moisture, preserving their natural shine.

A simple way is by tapping it — pure Kansa produces a deep, bell-like sound. It has a natural matte finish and is slightly heavier than brass. Ecocraft ensures that all its bronze cookware is made using the authentic copper-tin combination as per traditional guidelines.

Ecocraft India offers authentic, handcrafted bronze cookware made using traditional techniques passed down through generations. Each piece is unique, made from pure copper and tin without artificial coatings or chemical polish. Our bronze products are not only functional but also Ayurvedically beneficial and aesthetically timeless. We deliver worldwide, helping customers reconnect with India’s culinary traditions in a modern world.

A final note to our customers:

⚠️ Disclaimer – Handmade Clay & Bronze Cookware
At Ecocraft India, each product is handcrafted using traditional methods passed down through generations. Our cookware is not machine-made, which gives every piece its unique identity and natural imperfections.

🍲 Clay Cookware
🌀 Handcrafted Uniqueness
All clay pots are made using a potter’s wheel — without dies or molds. This ensures every item is one-of-a-kind.

🔄 Size & Shape Variations

Due to handcrafting, ±10% variation in size and shape is normal.

Clay pots are made with a slightly curved base to support thermal expansion on gas stoves.

⚠️ Avoid using flat-base pots on direct heat — they may crack.

✅ Use a round metal ring/coaster for better balance during cooking.

✋ Finish & Texture

Minor surface roughness is due to extra sand added for durability.

Small chipped edges can occur during bulk handling/shipping — this does not affect performance.

🌑 Black Clay Pots

Black color forms from deep firing at 1200°C+.

Red spots may appear from heat variations — purely natural and harmless.

🔴 Red Clay Pots

Natural marks (black, purple, white) may show due to kiln temperature changes.

No dyes or chemicals used — 100% natural clay.

💧 Sweating of Pots

Clay is porous; slight sweating/seepage may happen with long storage — part of its natural cooling effect.

🛕 Bronze Cookware (Kansa)
🛠️ Fully Handcrafted
Our bronze cookware is made by melting copper and tin together at extremely high temperatures (1000°C+), then molded by hand.

🔁 Size & Weight Variations

Because each piece is poured and shaped manually, minor variations in size and weight are normal.

The listed sizes are approximate and may vary slightly from batch to batch.

These differences do not affect quality or usability — they are part of traditional handmade bronze craftsmanship.

📸 Images for Reference Only
Due to handcrafted nature, products may not look exactly like the photo. Expect minor differences in finish, shade, or dimensions.
