Seasoning your cast iron kadai helps create a natural non-stick layer and protects it from rust. Here's a simple step-by-step guide to get your kadai ready for cooking:

Step-by-Step Seasoning Process:
1. Boil Water
Fill your kadai with water and bring it to a boil. This helps remove any surface residues.
2. Wash Thoroughly
Once cool, clean the kadai using warm soapy water and a scrub pad or steel scrubber.
3. Dry Completely
Rinse well and wipe it dry using a cloth or paper towel.
4. Heat on Stove
Place the kadai on a gas stove and heat it until all moisture evaporates.
5. Apply Oil Generously
Spread a thin, even layer of any edible oil (like coconut, groundnut, or sesame oil) on both the inside and outside surfaces.
6. Smoke It Out
Heat the kadai again until light smoke appears—this helps the oil settle into the metal.
7. Sauté Vegetable Waste or Onions
Add some chopped onions or veggie scraps and sauté until dark brown. This helps build the initial non-stick layer.
8. Discard & Wipe
Remove the contents, wipe the kadai clean, and allow it to cool.
9. Store in a Dry Place
Once cooled, store your seasoned kadai in a dry spot. Lightly oil before storing if needed.

Proper cleaning ensures your cast iron kadai stays rust-free and lasts for generations. Here’s a simple cleaning routine you can follow after every use:

Step-by-Step Cleaning Guide:
1. Wash Gently
Use mild soap and a scrub pad to clean the kadai. Avoid soaking it in water for long.
2. Dry Completely
Place the washed kadai on a gas stove and heat it lightly until all moisture evaporates.
3. Apply Oil
While still warm, apply a thin layer of any cooking oil to all surfaces (inside and out) to prevent rusting.

Pro Tip:
Never leave your cast iron kadai wet or un-oiled after washing. Regular oiling keeps it seasoned, smooth, and ready for your next delicious meal.

At Ecocraft India, we pre-season our cast iron kadais using natural vegetable oil, so they’re ready to use from day one. However, regular seasoning is still important to keep your kadai in its best form.

Why Seasoning Still Matters:
* It helps maintain the natural non-stick surface.
* It prevents rusting, especially in humid conditions.
* It improves with every use—the more you season, the better it performs.
When You Receive a New Kadai:
Just rinse it with hot water (no soap needed) before first use. Since the kadai is already pre-seasoned, avoid using dishwashing liquids or harsh scrubbers.

Ongoing Tip:
After each wash, apply a light layer of oil. With time and care, your Ecocraft cast iron kadai will become smoother and more seasoned—just like traditional cookware used for generations

Yes, you can cook mildly acidic foods like tomato- or lemon-based dishes in your Ecocraft cast iron kadai. But here’s something important to keep in mind:

Traditional Tip:
Acidic ingredients can react slightly with cast iron, especially if it’s not fully seasoned. So once cooking is done, always transfer the food to a serving bowl instead of letting it sit in the kadai for long.

Avoid This:
We do not recommend cooking milk- or curd-based recipes (like payasam or kheer) in cast iron, as dairy may react with the metal and alter the taste.

Pro Tip:
With regular seasoning and proper care, your kadai becomes more resistant to such reactions over time—just like grandma’s old cookware!

PRODUCT DAMAGED DURING TRANSIT

⚠️ Disclaimer – Handmade Clay & Bronze Cookware
At Ecocraft India, each product is handcrafted using traditional methods passed down through generations. Our cookware is not machine-made, which gives every piece its unique identity and natural imperfections.

🍲 Clay Cookware
🌀 Handcrafted Uniqueness
All clay pots are made using a potter’s wheel — without dies or molds. This ensures every item is one-of-a-kind.

🔄 Size & Shape Variations

Due to handcrafting, ±10% variation in size and shape is normal.

Clay pots are made with a slightly curved base to support thermal expansion on gas stoves.

⚠️ Avoid using flat-base pots on direct heat — they may crack.

✅ Use a round metal ring/coaster for better balance during cooking.

✋ Finish & Texture

Minor surface roughness is due to extra sand added for durability.

Small chipped edges can occur during bulk handling/shipping — this does not affect performance.

🌑 Black Clay Pots

Black color forms from deep firing at 1200°C+.

Red spots may appear from heat variations — purely natural and harmless.

🔴 Red Clay Pots

Natural marks (black, purple, white) may show due to kiln temperature changes.

No dyes or chemicals used — 100% natural clay.

💧 Sweating of Pots

Clay is porous; slight sweating/seepage may happen with long storage — part of its natural cooling effect.

🛕 Bronze Cookware (Kansa)
🛠️ Fully Handcrafted
Our bronze cookware is made by melting copper and tin together at extremely high temperatures (1000°C+), then molded by hand.

🔁 Size & Weight Variations

Because each piece is poured and shaped manually, minor variations in size and weight are normal.

The listed sizes are approximate and may vary slightly from batch to batch.

These differences do not affect quality or usability — they are part of traditional handmade bronze craftsmanship.

📸 Images for Reference Only
Due to handcrafted nature, products may not look exactly like the photo. Expect minor differences in finish, shade, or dimensions.
